The American comedy Jack & Jill is a movie watched mainly during the holidays that is rumored unappreciated.

Director, Script Writers and Actors

A PG American comedy released on November 11, 2011, this film is directed by Dennis Dugan and scripted by Steven Koren and Adam Sandler. Starring actors such as Adam Sandler,  Al Pacino and Katie Holmes.

Plot

Jack Sadelstein has an annoying twin sister Jill that makes him dread the holidays. Her and her bird Poopsie make an annual trip from New York to California for Thanksgiving to visit her brother Jack, sister-in-law, niece and nephew. As much as Jack dreads this day, Jill does make it entertaining.

Since their mother died and Jill had nothing to go back to New York for, she decided to stay even longer for Hanukkah. This made Jack go a little crazy because she breaks everything and he thinks she’s never going to leave. Everyday of Hanukkah they do different things like go horseback riding, go to the movies and go shopping. Jill tends to ruin the fun like when they went horseback riding, she crushed the horse because she was too big. Jack ends up inviting her on the cruise with them for New Years.

While on the cruise, Jack betrays Jill’s trust and she goes home back to New York. Jack ends up feeling really bad and he takes his whole family to New York to see her and apologize. When they got to New York she was at a restaurant that was her and her mother’s favorite. Jill was depressed from the whole situation with Jack and the fact that her mother wasn’t there with her. Jack ends up surprising Jill at the restaurant and they go back to her house. When they got back to Jill’s house, their neighbor Juan was there. Jill and Juan were in love throughout the movie but never got the chance to admit it. Finally they decide to get together and Jack is super happy for her.

Review

Jack & Jill is a great family movie for the holidays. This movie really makes you appreciate your siblings and lets you see past all the arguments growing up. This movie makes you realize that family is way more important than money. As much as you may not get along with your siblings, deep down you still love them and know that you couldn’t live without them. There are lots of celebrities in this movie that you honestly wouldn’t expect. Like Johnny Depp, Al Pacino and Kobe Bryant. It’s cool that they had the famous actors play themselves in the movie.

The Thanksgiving scene really does add a nice touch. It brings up the fact that family functions can be a little crazy, but you still love them. They even show the traditional things on a Thanksgiving table like turkey, name tags so everyone knows where they’re sitting, bread, corn, gravy, and mashed potatoes.
